Surrey Place Centre Developmental Disabilities Primary Care Initiative
On May 26, 2011 Dr. Bill Sullivan, Family Physician at Surrey Place Centre and Director of the Developmental Disabilities Primary Care Initiative announced the recent publications of the peer-reviewed Primary care of adults with developmental disabilities: Canadian consensus guidelines, the Tools for Primary Care of People with Developmental Disabilities book, and a training module on Developmental Disabilities in Adults. The module was developed in a joint project with the Foundation for Medical Practice Education at McMaster University in Hamilton.
As a result of a four-year collaboration with health care professionals across the county and beyond, Dr. Sullivan is pleased to announce that with the completion of these publications and training module, health care professionals will be better equipped to provide enhanced health care for adults with developmental disabilities in communities across Canada.
A special thank you to the following partners for their commitment, support and ongoing financial contributions: the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Surrey Place Centre and Surrey Place Centre Charitable Foundation.
