Surrey Place Centre’s Adult Program provides assessment, treatment and support to adults aged 18 years and over who have or are suspected of having a developmental disability. The program also supports their families, caregivers and other service providers. For a complete listing of services please refer to Developmental Programs.
We offer a variety of programs and services to help our clients manage the challenges of daily living, promote health & wellness and support their independence, and enhance the overall quality of their lives.
In the Adult Program, we strongly believe that adults living with developmental disabilities should be seen first and foremost as adults.
It’s a belief that influences the way we serve our adult clients in every way, including:
- We respect our clients’ abilities, aspirations and potential
- We involve clients in our services, and make all information understandable – including written, spoken, visual and tactile communication
- Our adult clients are involved in the decision-making process, and have the right to make their own choices
- Support our clients to achieve autonomy
The client’s progress is monitored regularly and a Surrey Place Centre staff acts as the primary contact person for the client.
Specialized Programs and Services
In addition to our interdisciplinary servcies, we offer the following specialized servcies:
