Why Donate

It is estimated that 3% of the general population has a developmental disability.  This translates to almost 950,000 people in Canada and more than 78,000 in the city of Toronto alone.

Often time’s these individuals feel isolated and rejected by society.  Parents become devastated by their child’s diagnosis, and caregivers deal with the frustration of getting the assistance needed.

Your donation supports programs and services that provide hope and inspiration to people living with developmental disabilities.

Donate now, call us at (416) 925-5141 ext. 2399 or print our Donation Form and return it to us by mail or fax.

Donations at Work

Surrey Place Centre has made significant strides in providing support and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, their families and caregivers.  However, we need ongoing financial support to continue to make a difference.

With your support we are able to continue to:

  1. Help cover essential items - like work or school uniforms - that improve the lives of our clients
  2. Provide free specialized programming that brings together families affected by developmental disabilities.
  3. Develop new support systems to enrich the lives of children and adults living with developmental disabilities
  4. Improve our state-of-the-art facility by adding new spaces that support our clients and staff—including areas for children to play, learn and grow.
  5. Teach new generations of health care providers about developmental disabilities, giving each of them the tools to successfully contribute to their own communities.
  6. Provide educational toys and learning materials to children with developmental disabilities to help them achieve developmental or behavioural milestones.
